When I create my x264 files (in mkv) from DVD sources, I use chapter extractor to get chapter points to enter into mkvmerge. WHen I encode HDTV captures, I have no way of finding chapters, is there a tool to automatically create chapter points based on movie length (like VCDEasy used to?)?

mmg has a chapter editor. =D It's not fully integrated, you create them, save, switch tabs, and load, but it's pretty easy to use. (Not automatic though.)
