Hi-
...i want to know what is the best format to convert my dvd to so that i can play it on the computers...
Convert it to what? If AVI, then most likely AutoGK is the way to go:

Why bother? DL Media Player Classic (free). It will play your DVDs and other video files, no problems.

@Farid Shahin
1) Are you talking about only one DVD, several DVDs, or many DVDs?
2) Are you talking about playing on only computers that you own?
3) Is hard drive space a concern?

i want to know what is the best format Farid, please read and follow the forum rules. This violates rule 12: do not ask what's best. And your title violates rule 9: use a proper thread title. Thank you.

Rip the DVDs (DVD Decrypter v.3.5.4 will rip the vast majority of DVDs) to your hard drive and then simply use either freeware program, VLC (my personal favorite) or Media Player Classic, to play the DVD "packages"...

Rip them to your HD in ISO mode with DVD Decrypter. They will be around 7 or 8 gigs each. You can then use DVD Shrink to rip just the movie and delete the rest if you want to. The resulting files will still be around 4.5 gig.
You may want to take a look in the Xvid forum here at doom9. If you keep the movies in Xvid format you will save a tremendous amount of HD space.
Or, you may want to encode them to mpeg4 which will also save you a lot of space.
So, read up on Xvid and mpeg4 then make a choice or keep them in mpeg2.
