Will changing Curve Compression help with encoding for PDA etc

I am encoding films to play on my P910i, it has an ARM 156Mhz cpu so I have to limit the encodes by keeping the fps at ~ 12fps and the bitrate to ~140.

It only struggles during high motion scenes. In an effort to keep this smooth I was trying to find ways to improve this and was wondering whether setting the "high bitrate scence degradation" to say 30% will help.

I leave everything else at default and don't use B-frames (or GMC, Qpel etc) as this puts more strain on the cpu.

Are there any other things I could try to implement.

i guess vbv is what you want

if your tool supports a specific profile/level, set it in xvid and it will enforce the specific vbv limits

Hi, when you say "your tool" I take it you mean the software I use to play Xvid on my P910i? (Smartmovie Player) If so I would doubt it.

Just doing some reading around on vbv. Also trying to find some very low bitrate CQM but for the life of me can't find any links. Looking for Bulletproof's Heavy Compression and Ultimates. Any other's worth trying?
