DivX 3.11a video 25 fps and mp3 128 kbps CBR audio

Audio and video are in sync to begin but pregressively get out of sync until by 50 min, the difference is noticeable - maybe some 300 ms.

I know NanDub/VDub can fix a constant difference between audio and video sync but how to fix this progressive case? Is there a program which can simply do it without resorting to things like stretching audio etc.

thanks for your help

You can use VirtualDub -> Video -> Frame Rate... -> Source rate adjustment -> Change to X fps and save to a new avi (video -> Direct stream copy).

This can work for PC players, not for standalone players (need standard framerate).

A slightly different suggestion. Use VirtualDub as follows:

From under the "Video" dropdown menu, select "Framerate" - and select "Change so video and audio durations match"
Save with a new filename

Thanks, that's quite useful to know but in this case it seems audio and video durations are the same already so the out-of-sync condition remains.

Despite what you've said, if you haven't as yet done so, it'll take only a few minutes of your time (with "Video" and "Audio" set to "Direct Stream Copy") to try what I've suggested. You might be pleasantly surprised ;>}

Yes, what I meant is I had tried it and it hadn't worked, but I've stored that useful info for another occasion.

I solved the prob by reripping the audio track with BeSweet. The original (done a couple years ago) was done with VOB2audio.

Thanks
