I have installed the Divx 3.11 and 5.2.1 Pro trial from the GK codec pack. But I couldn't find them in the Virtual Dub video compression selection list. Please help.

I don't believe you can use either of those with VirtualDub - you may need the full Pro version or a lesser free one. The GordianKnot Rippack should have everything you need/can use.

No, CWR, both are VfW codecs, and should appear in the Video...Compression window, if they were installed properly.
Either they weren't installed correctly ... or there's something wrong with senderj's Windows registry.

I think the 5.2.1 trial didn't appear because I had once installed the Divx 5 trial and expired. However, I expect the 3.11 should appear in VD.

Just remove divx 5.2.1, this codec is blocking all other codecs when trial expired.
