MP3 to Atrac.

Hello. Sorry if this post isn't in the right section and I did a quick search before I posted, but well...

Any aplication that can convert MP3's to Atrac, except the SonicStage from Sony?

Atrac is a sony codec and product. Hence Sonic stage is the only app that does it.

Didn't some of the older versions of RealMedia Player, encode to ATRAC....

... But I have to ask.... Why????

Presumably for a Sony product.

Newest SS will give you the newest Atrac3/Atrac3Plus codecs. Other than that and as mentioned real player, there is a way old atrac ACM codec, but you wouldn't get OMA files or whatever with it and the quality is much worse.

Real used atrac inside one of their many audio profiles for inside real media (ra8, the higher quality settings iirc) - i guess they just licensed the codec for their own use because they thought it was good..
