I agree, it is a good product, but I have one word of caution:

Make sure your original is in good condition before ripping in DVDFab. In the same way it ignores ARccOS generated errors, it sometimes ignores legitimate ones as well (i.e. scratches, smudges etc.) resulting in a disc that skips or freezes.

As long as your original DVD is in playable condition, though, using DVDFab shouldn't pose any problems.

I've been having problems with newer movies, like Millions, Wedding Crashers, etc.........it just hangs and stops on a few VOB's in.......:eek:

Anyone notice that Wedding Crasher disc has "InterActual Player" on it and a script to auto run burner when disc is installed even if auto run has been disabled. It does prompt before installing and you can click it off. Also a readme file and a Mac OS folder. It shows up in Win Explorer file check.

There seems to be 2 versions of Wedding Crashers around. One is totally A-OK, another seems to have a lot of unreferenced material in it. For the second version, I'd recommend using the method in Kill ARccOS in my signature.

And I agree with lckeys re Fab ignoring bad sectors. Be very careful about this.

@bigmacnc

Hi!

The Interactual Player "package" has been around on commercial DVDs for several years. There's nothing insidious about it. It simply provides a software DVD player and (usually) some "extras" for the viewer's enjoyment. As you've already mentioned, when it automatically presents its opening screen offering its installation, you simply have to select "Cancel" and get down to business...
