Anyone having probs playing XviD files with XOR, FQM or TCM extensions - getting no sound?

I joined this site hoping to find an answer but inbetween joining and being able to post, I found it!

Download ACE Mega Codecs pack, the latest one, from their website. It's a huge file and takes ages to download and install, but once u have, you'll be able to play those extensions.

Let me translate that post.

"Anyone having probs playing XviD files with XOR, FQM or TCM extensions - getting no sound?

I joined this site hoping to post a crazy spam thread but had to wait some days to do so...but that didn't stop me!

Download ASS Super Codecs pack, the latest one, from their spam headquarters. It's a huge file and takes ages to download and install, but once u have, you'll be able to play weird 'extensions' no one knows about and enjoy an irreversibly unstable Windows forever!"

So let's wait until this ridiculous post gets nuked, and in the meantime allow me to warn anyone reading this who may not know that "super mega ultra codec packs" are horrible and should never be installed.

That's right - stay away from codec packs!

It's unbelievable what people do to their systems when it would be completely sufficient to let ffdshow decode video and audio. And nasty to see that (if we are actually talking about that) so-called 'release groups' drive people to doing such a thing simply by changing file extensions.

Just in case, this thread is closed because of a possible rule 6 infringement. :readrule:
