Hi setarip_old and Feedback,
Hope you and your families had agreat Christmas, many blessings I'm sure.
On the DMA thing, checked it out in the device mgr. and here is what it says.

Device 0
Device Type: Not Highlighted
Transfer ModeMA if available
Current transfer Mode: PIO Mode
Device 1
Device Type:Auto Detection
Transfer Mode: DMA if available
Current Transfer Mode: Not Applicable
If I need to change something here to quicken my shrink time, how do I go about it? for all I can do is hit on the drop down arrows.

On the Shrink part I believe it is the Encoding and the Burning that is taking the hrs to do. Now on the USB port part I have not a clue to find out how they are connected. I did checked into the device Mgr. on them,if that is what you mean, and all indicated being working properly other than that , I'm in the dark on how to check for what you mean.
My hard drive is an 80g and it is slightly than 1/2 full. Could that make a diff by chance?
Again I want to thank you for your help very much appreciated. Hopefuly and maybe not to long from now I can help some other poor slob out.Have a great day.

Be Bless,
Pete

Change the PIO to DMA. See http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=44808

Why did you start a new thread?

PS If it says not applicable, it means no device is connected. You should have something connected as master.

You can remove both devices and reboot, it should set them back to DMA mode. If windows encounters a certain amount of I/O errors it lowers the transfer settings to attempt to correct the errors.

What's next? "Burning Time 3"? Confine your questions to the original thread, this one is closed.
