Hello all. Can someone give me a brief guide on how to only rip the english track w/ movie using vStrip? I want to start backing up my DVDs since I lost a few to scratches and [Edit-profanity] manfab process (glue rotted).

Welcome to the Forum:
Take a spin through the Forum Rules at the top of the page; you missed the one on profanity.
That's a good guide on vStrip, but if you find it a little complex, take a look at DVD Shrink. You could use it to strip out everything but the movie and the English audio track. If you're interested, hit the Doom9 link at the top of the page and go to the Guides section, from there, find Shrink under the DVD backup guides; a download link for the software is in the guide.

Also VobBlanker (http://jsoto.posunplugged.com/vobblanker.htm) works well. Guides on site.

I get how to use vstrip and I know about all of the other programs, but I just want to make sure that I do not have to select anything in the sub stream setting (using the GUI).
Basically I am loading the DVD. Selecting the appropriate IFO and then on the output tab I am turning off audio streams 1-7. Do I need to deselect video streams 1-7 as well (subtitles)?
For those that are offended I will switch to the command line once I know that I am just backing up the english track.
The reason why I do not use any of the other clients is because they require you to install it on your computer. Vstrip just works out of the box without an ugly install/uninstall process. Trolling the registry and hidden windows folders for vestiges of an install is not fun.
