I bought the Samsung V5500 for my kids. It is a combo VHS/DVD player. It does not play Mpeg4.
First, I tried a DVD that I had backed up using DVD-RB which would skip and pause in the Samsung so I tried cleaning it off to no avail, it still skipped.
Well, that ticked me off as I knew perfectly well that the DVD played just fine in my Panasonic S29.
As a matter of fact, just to reasure myself I tried the dvd in my panasonic which BTW played the dvd with no problems. I then went immediately to the Samsung and tried the dvd one last time, but of course it skipped.
So, just to let everyone know I am taking this unit back and buying another Panasonic S29 @ $69.00 for the kids and a yet undecided VHS player.
