hi,

as a mentioned in the german part of the forum i had an idea.

is it possible to repalce the *.vob mpeg container files with hdtv mpeg or even wmvhd files of the same movie, but using it with the ramaining menues etc?

so we could have both, the comfort of the dvd but in combination of the image quality.
i know that it wouldnt be possible to play the dvd in a normal dvd player anymore.

i am sking, because in my opinion the menue on the german tomb raider wmvhd dvd really sucks!

I too think that menu sucks, but that's not a problem of the film not being in "DVD-format". Since it's a simple WMV-file, you can actually create much more sophisticated menus for it using Flash or any other fancy interface-scripting (although Flash being the most appropriate tool I guess).

I guess Concorde was just too lazy to design and script a fance menu for this, since the TR-box was just a first test for them to bring HD-WMV to the consumer.

hi, and thanx for your reply!
i own more of these wmv-hd-dvds, and they all have a lack of good menus, to express it in a friendly way.
so would it be possible to take the better lloking and animated menu of the dvd version of the same movie and just do some recalibration of the links/buttons, so that instead of starting a mpeg in a vob container to play a wmv-h or a mpeg in a ts container?
