View Full Version : I cannot succeed in converting with D2SroBa.

I must have done something wrong but what.

My story is that I have some movies. And I should like to play them on my standalone DivXPlayer on my TV-Screen. Well for some reason that is not possible. So I decided to convert them with the simple program DrDivX. After converting with DrDivX I found that the conversion had put the movie upsidedown. So seeking on the Internet I found information about the program D2SroBa. And I decided to make DVD’s of them.
I installed that program on my computer.

I am working with WindowsXP Pro

Maybe some screens are of interest:

(I see: It is impossible to put the screens here. I had a screen with GSpot Codec information and one screen of D2SRoBa and theAVI2DVD screen the encoder, and the conversion)

I hope You can help. I myself will work very hard on the matter. I hoop that You can give me the necessary assistance that I need badly.

Welcome to the forum.
Nice post. Good effort for a first-timer :)

Those logfiles are incomplete, they only go as far as the video encoding stage

What actually happens at this stage?

A couple of other things: Try playing the avisynth script file in Media Player. Do you get video or red text on a black background?

Also, with regards to the madplay error, it could be that the first frame is corrupt. Try the trick with VDubMod in the "Preoblems specific to AVI's" sticky.

Cheers
Nick

Thanks for your answer.

But I cannot believe that my logfile is incomplete.
I mean: "this is all there is"

When I play the avisynth script with the Media
player I get the text in red:
"AviSource : Could not decompress frame 0
(H:\D2SROBA-Werkmap\AviSynth_Script_file_.avs,line2)"

Further can You tell me where I can find info about the trick with VDUBMOD. I have read somewhere (and I cannot find the place again) that I should make a direct stream copy. Is that the trick??

I am not familiar with VDUBMOD but I am a little with VirtualDub. So when I try to open the file in VirtualDub I get the following comment:

"VirtualDub has detected an improper VBR audio encoding
in the source AVI file and will rewrite the audio header
with standard CBR values for better compatibility. This may
introduce up to 2710 ms of skew from the video stream. If this is not acceptable , decompress the entire audiostream to an uncompressed WAV
and recompress with a constant bitrate encoder. (bitrate:
134.0 plus/min 20,1 kbps)"

I see what's going on. Frame 0 is corrupt. The log is incomplete because video encoding never gets started.

The VDubMod trick is here
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=100328

Click "NO" when you get the error message.

Then reconvert from the resaved AVI and it should work I reckon.

Let us know how you get on

Merry Christmas :)

You need the correct codec for the video file. GSpot can tell you what codec you need.

JanVroegop
1st January 2006, 16:16
Allright--- GSpot says:"0x0055(MP3) ID'd as MPEG-1 Layer 3"

I cannot understand the meaning!!!
Further says GSpot: "4 compatible codecs installed"

Thanks for help! Jan

Nick

@ Boulder - I am not convinced this is a codec issue. If no ACM codec is installed for the video type, it usually fails with "Avisource: Could not find a decompressor for FOURCC **** ".

@ JanVroegop - The avisynth script you played to get this error: Edit it in Notepad as follows:

Change the line

AVISource("H:\(whatever).AVI",audio=false)

for

DirectShowSource("H:\(whatever).AVI",25,audio=false)

Resave it and try playing it again. What happens this time?

He needs the proper video codec, trust me. Probably installing DivX6 (due to DivX3 support) and XviD is enough.

He's not even loading the audio in the script so Avisynth will not worry about the audio track ;)

Thank You Nick I did what told me. The result is that now the film is played in Windows Media Player but again upsidedown.
So far thanks!
And for Boulder: Do You really think that Y have to install codec DivX6? And how can I get rid of the codecs wherefor vdubmod warned after the first start. Simple deleting them in windows\system32 ??

OK.
Use D2SRoBa from the start.
When it launches DVD2SVCD, go into the Frameserver tabm under "Edit Avisynth script" and select to Edit as Part of Video Encoding.

After audio conversion, the avisynth script will appear in a window.
Change the Avisource line as per my above post, then add a line
FlipVertical()
underneath it.
Press OK and let the process continue.

Oké, Nick everything is fine now I have an MPex_Muxed_File00.mpg with a good sound.

And now I hope that You will help me any further. It was on an FTD-Forum that I was attended on D2SroBa by a guy who succeeded in making with D2SroBa a DVD with 5 short movies on it. Together four and a half
hour. This FTD-Forum no longer exist.

The movie I have converted is also a very short one. Before conversion 358.000KB but after conversion 3.009.000KB This file is much to large.

May I ask: I want to put at least 4 or 5 movies on one DVD-5. What program do I have to use or where on the doom9 forum do I have to look.

Many thanks again for what You did for me Jan

Nick
6th January 2006, 21:02
OK. The final size is determined by the disc capacity. I assume you left it at the DVDR default of 4464. Since the source file is so small and, bitrate will have maxed out and even at the top bitrate allowed on DVD, the file only ended up at 3009MB.

In D2SRoBa you can set this. Since a full DVDR is about 4464MB, to get 4 files per DVD, convert each one with a CD size setting og 1116 (=4464/4).

Dear Nick,
I did as I was told. Thanks! Now I can make D2SroBa work that is fine. But I think that my problem now is of an other kind then my startproblem here.

So I think: Maybe I must start another thread.
