Hi!

I`m new to this forum and just found it last week and decided to join in..
I`m also trying out for the first time to rip a DVD9 to DVD5 with the prog. Dvd Rebuilder together with CCE Encoder and so far i`m a little confused..

I`ve been trying to make a backup of the movie JAWS but the final result didn`t even work in my DVD player..there were audio on the disc but no picture at all.

And also when i have prepared the movie in DVD Rebuilder it says:
Overall Bitrate : 2*230Kbs
Space for Video : 3*148*426KB

..and this i can`t understand, why is the output size only about 3 Gb when the original Disc is about 7.80 Gb?
I thought that the output size would always be somewhere between 4 - 4.4 Gb...
I would guess that my settings in CCE are wrong in some way but i can`t find out how so that`s why i`m asking here for some help.

I`m using DVD Rebuilder Pro v1.04 together with CCE SP v2.70.01.05

Here`s a log:

I think it's do to the fact that you have it setup for "movie only", so you got rid of alot of other stuff, menu, extras and so on. the actual movie is probably a 3 gig deal I think?

Ok, but in DVD Rebuilder i have set "Full Backup" (Menus, Movie, Extras) in mode so maybe i have to change something in CCE then?

Space for Video means just that, if you delete all audio then of course the space for video would increase, but you would be stuck with a silent movie. :p

edit: Space for Video is the space that is left for video, after RB have found out how much space is needed for audio & menus.

Ok, so "Space for video" and "Output size" are two different things...maybe i will give it another try and see how the result comes out.
Thanks for the tip!

Ok, just finished with my second backup disc of JAWS and this time everything went smooth..i`m very satisfied with the result.
I also compared this backup with another backup of JAWS i did with CloneDVD and there is a huge differance in quality between theese two.
This took me 5 hours but it was all worth it!
