Can someone explain what the Auto mode does?

Blend looks fine for still and motion. Bob is awful in stills but great at motion. I think blend is better overall, but can someone explain how auto chooses what to do?

"Auto" selects blend if the video is interlaced or cannot be detected, otherwise uses weave. Bob should be manually selected if you know that the source is trully 50/60fps (if you framestep and there is only motion in every other frame then it's not).

Hi Gabest,

Greetings and glad to see you active again.

Having problem getting deinterlacing to work if selecting VMR9 renderless as output renderer. When click on VMR filter properties, the deinterlace panel does not display any deinterlace mode in use. Clicking the proc amp would also crash the player. Frame rate achieved is also lower.

Deinterlace seem to work fine in VMR9 windowed mode.

If I select weave in MPC and turn on motion adaptive or vector adaptive with my ATI card should it deinterlace??

Where did you find the other options? I have only the blend mode available when I look in "Shaders". I am using version 6.4.8.7.

When I go into Options...Filters > MPEG Decoder > Deinterlacing drop down gives me Auto, Weave, Blend, Bob

Using a AIW 9700 Pro with 5.13 drivers. I learned that Vector adaptive is for Avivo cards (x1800 series) only.

Ah I see where you are setting that. Does anyone know if these settings affect the internal MPEG-2 decoder as well as the MPEG-1 decoder?
