Hi
Sorry if I’m in the wrong section but I'm stumped as to where to go.

I would like to convert a "MIDI Sequence" to a wave format that cold be played on a stand alone cd player. If this is possible.

You see I have these diskettes that have music on them that are used by an organ for accompanying music when I play and I would like to play them thought my cd player ( better sound).

Thanks for the help

Not really relatedto DVDs, but - what you want to do is render the midi files. Use Google to search for "midi renderer" and you'll find hundreds of programs to choose from.

You can also record them with any WAV recording and editing program as they play on your PC. Double-click your Volume Control tray icon, chen click Options > Properties, select Recording and make sure Stereo Mix is checked, click Ok and select the Stereo Mix. Any sound your computer makes will be recorded real-time with a recording program.

With my sound card (Sound Blaster Live!) I need to select MIDI from the Windows recording settings to record MIDI. I guess "What u hear" also allows recording played back MIDI, but it also records other (unwanted) sounds.

Synthfont (http://www.synthfont.com/) should be able to do it directly and i think it works with the standard Windows GM soundfont. If you want some better quality you have to find a better soundfont yourself.

Hmm... Very nice, but Windows and Creative sound cards have very bad midi sound bank (Creative use sometimes proteus sounds). You could get better sound with a Yamaha XG driver (compatible with General midi) and record it using the suggestions already said or use Cubase together with Hypersonic and you can export any midi file as wave or mp3... but of course it' not free :sly:
Greetings!

TiMidity is freeware and uses standard Soundfonts or Gravis Patches.
