I am fan of cce from the first day we found it and tried to use with avisynth..I am still using v2.5 because its fast as hell, and I can make 4 passes too fast, can we say that it is equal in quality for 1-2 passes at newest cce editions?????

Are you saying that with an old version of cce I can encode faster with same quality? If so, I'm gonna downgrade.

This should be carefully tested, because newer versions have more advantages than the old...on the other side the old cce is incredibly fast....I cant be sure if 2-3 passed on the old can be better than one on the new....Maybe we could set some terms to take measurements, but it needs a lot of work...and the settings are diffirent.it would need too many time....nevertheless the latest has fewer bugs...make a try..if you have amd raw power you will notice the speed difference..

2.5 is faster on Athlons whereas the newer versions excel on a P4. However, 2.5 doesn't support custom quant matrices.

I'd say you won't be able to tell a difference between 2 and 4 passes. It has been tested many times already.

well it depends on the bitrate,I am using low bitrate and at 1-2-3 passes there is difference, from 3 and above I agree it isnt really different.
