Screwball idea?
Lately, the TV channel from which I do captures has "streaks," apperently from over-saturation.
I was playing with a frame and I thought that there might be some way
to remove the streaks.
Here is the original capture:
First, with a graphics program, I seperated the frame into planes (channels) HSL, and also CMYK.
I took the "K" (black) frame and made it a "negative." I noticed that the "streaks" were mostly gone.
I tried "painting" the "K" channel into the "L" of the HSL and recombine the HSL, but the Luma was very exaggerated.
Well, I'm wondering if this process might work if a mask of the negative of the K channel might be used to define a mask that can reflect back on the original frame?
I have no idea at present as to how to even begin to implement such a function.
Is this viable?
Is a different colorspace more likely to be more effective?
I'm serious about this. I'm not looking for theoreticals; I'm looking for proof either way. (Why do I say this? Because I tried someones filter on cleaned clip; it should have had no effect, but it produced artifacts at any setting).
(I know, seems makes no sense)
