I am planning on buying a DivX compatible DVD player for the family for Christmas. Unfortunately the choices seems limited (am living in the USA).
I did see a Phillips 642 I think it was in Wal Mart. Although the reviews seem to be mixed. After reading I am now still a little confused although not as much. But I am VERY nervous about buying any stand alone.
Anyone willing to help me sort all this out to make a good informed choice? What things should I be looking for? I do want the picture quality to be good on my TV.. Looks good on my computer but no guarantee I know. Oh yes the few divx files I have are encoded with version 6. I have only seen players able to play divx 5. Yet I thought I read some place that the player will still play it as long as the file has avi extension is this true?
If the Phillips is not the greatest choice what is?
Thanks in advance for the help....
