I recently switched from PowerDVD to WinDVD and found it to be a real step forward

However one thing...
When playing a DVD the audio fades away a little, a few secs and then goes back louder. I've checked all the settings, tried some stuff but have no idea.
It's almost like some sort of effect on the audio, it keeps going up and down like I would be playing with the volume knob

I'm hoping someone in here knows a solution.

I'm using WinXP Pro, soundcard Audiotrak Prodigy 7.1, vidcard GF 6600GT

I never used MPC for watching DVDs
Can it have the same navigation options as a DVD player, does it support 7.1 sound and all that ?

Edit: I tried it and am pleasantly surprised, there's no simulation for 7.1 (upmix 5.1-> 7.1) speakers but that's no big deal in the end.
