On the last 3 updates (1.03 to 1.05) I have been trying to use the Update only method rather than using the full installer. On each occasion, Rebuilder has developed stability problems, especially in Batch mode. I have cured this each time by reverting to a full Install instead.

Of course this means that my preferences for things like Audio and Subtitle settings, matrices and the like are not retained. Last time round I have kept the Rebuilder.ini file and repasted it back to the install folder to save having to reset all my preferences. However, I am concernced this may cause problems, especially if a new feature is added which requires an entry in the .ini file which would be removed using this method.

I guess the new Template feature will help with this - but Audio and Sub settings will still be removed I assume. Could the full installer have an option added to "Retain all Rebuilder.ini" settings please - this would make upgrading to the new version a lot easier.

Can I second that please?

I don't think that's necessary... the installer will ask you if you want to overwritte the Rebuilder.ini file, right? (I know that for sure :))
As long as you click 'no' it won't be overwritten... if there's a new entry needed... Rebuilder.exe will add it for you on the first run.

As Rockas said, just say no to the "Replace INI" file. If new settings are created, DVD Rebuilder will use default values for any entry that doesn't exist in the INI.
