Hi. I'm new to the HDTV game. My provider uses Scientific Atlantic
Explorer 8300HD. I have Sony 27" Wega HDTV. When I run my DVD
Player into the TV using Component connections, I can't really tell the difference between interlace and progressive scan. But, the cable TV non-HD shows upconverted through the 8300HD look great!! The set top box has composit inputs. Has anyone ever heard of using these to input DVD Player output through the upconverter into the HDTV? Or am I just engaging in wishful thinking?

I guess I should have used this subject line instead. I'm wondering if any gizmos are out there to upscale DVD before it gets to the Component Inputs
of the HDTV?

If generally not that sharp 480i cable analog input looks pretty good after upscaling by the set top box then I'm thinking upscaled DVD shouldn't look too bad either. :)
