Seamless Branching flags?

Hi,

I'm struggling with Polar Express R2 which has seamless branching (3 PGC, one for each language).
What I did was:
1. DVDDecrypter to rip in file mode
2. PGCedit to create a "play all title"
Identified the PGC that I'd like to keep intact (PGC3)
In the other two PGC (1 & 2) I changed VOBID of the ILV to match PGC3.
3. IFOedit to keep seemless branch in VOBEXTRAS, unused ILV vobid is deleted.

I now have a fully functional DVD but when I open it in voblanker it want to skip the VTS due to ILV. I thought that I just removed the ILV.
Looking at the vobid sequence it is clearly sequential without any gaps.
Anyone know if it's straight forward to just change the flags or just save it with voblanker to clear the ILV flags.

The process was quite straightforward and saved me alot of space. If I just could get rid of the ILV it would open up for voblanker, maybe I need it for the next title I backup.

Did you check that your output vob file (after IFOEdit) is indeed smaller than the original (did it reallly remove the ILVUs?). Check with pgceditpreview if you really removed them: by scrolling through the vob where the ILVUs used to be, you should not see repeated scenes, but 1 continuous scene, if you did remove them well.
Now if you did remove them, there shouldn't be any ILVUs left, and vobblanker shouldn't complain. I would imagine that IFOEdit would have removed the flags. Did you check the flags in PgcEdit?

One by one:

Size is indeed smaller. From 5.10GB to 4.54GB

Check with pgceditpreview if you really removed them: by scrolling through the vob where the ILVUs used to be, you should not see repeated scenes, but 1 continuous scene, if you did remove them well.
It is 1 continuous scene, confirmed with pgceditpreview and powerdvd

Did you check the flags in PgcEdit?

knife, it appears you successfully got rid of the ILVUs, but your IFOs are not in sync now!!! They still show ILVUs (as you can see), I'm not sure why. Maybe you forgot to tick a check box in IFOEdit when you removed the unreferenced cells. In any case, here's what I would do if I where you.
- Keep a copy of your IFOs, just in case.
- In PgcEdit remove all the interleaved flags.
- In IFOEdit, set all the "first ILVU VOBU end sector" to 0. They need to be 0 since you no longer have ILVUs
- The in IFOEdit, do a mock strip, (update both vob and ifos). This might be needed because i'm not sure the "entry point sector" values in your IFOs are right now...

It looks like removing the unrefed cells in IFOEdit didn't remove the ILVU flags (but that makes sense), so now you have some clean up to do...

To be completely sure, simple Process the DVD with "keep" option in VobBlanker.
VB will fix all these things for you (including the internal VOB pointers)

mmm, seems there are some cells that should not be there...I'm looking to the cells with 4.20 in duration, like 6/1 and 12/1, seems the ending part of other story.
Does the original IFO have more than 53 cells? Could you post a part of the original PGC, including completely a ILV block?

The first thing I noticed was the 4:20 cells and found it strange. I checked them all and they are parts of the story, all different.
The original PGC has 53 cells. The other two stories (PGC) also has 53 cells.

So, did you try VobBlanker? I believe it will clear all ILV flags for you..

I will try voblanker and see what happens. Right now i'm trying ifoedit with checkbox "remove angle/ILVU point" ticked, before I used "adjust angle/ILVU point" I will report back

the problem was solved in two ways:

1. DVDDecrypter to rip in file mode
2. Identified the PGC that I'd like to keep intact (PGC3)
In the other two PGC (1 & 2) I changed VOBID of the ILV to match PGC3.
3. Voblanker with the new renumber vobid feature Great new feature I have to say.

and also

Regarding Polor Express. Hopefully someone will note this. You guys are a little over my head.

Use IFOedit and DVDDecrypter at a very basic level. I think the problem people are talking about is after spliting #2 would play. If that is so I need more basic instructions on how to handle. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Really don't care about the angles issue. Just want to split to 2 and be able to access them both. Right now second file gives me a "illegal command".

Sorry, VobBlanker does not support multiangle nor ILV DVDs... But VobBlanker can de-ILVed your DVD as first step.

So you can do what knife did (case 1). It is not so difficult...
1.- Open in pgcEdit and change in the PGCs you do not want the VOBID of the ILV to match with the one of the PGC to be kept. You need to open thw PGC editor twice, one per unwanted PGC.
2.- Process the DVD, keeping all, in VobBlanker. The resulting DVD won't be interleaved, and full functional (all three PGCs will be the same)
3.- Split the DVD in two, as usual in VobBlanker

Probably 2 and 3 can be done simultaneously, but I recommend you to do it step by step.
