QuickTime 7 sound issue

I've installed QuickTime Alternative 1.65, which uses QuickTime Codec 7.0.3.50, and during playback of ALL videos, the sounds is 'shattered'.
Video is fine, but unwatchable because of the sound problem.

To best describe it, here is a sample of how a video sounds like:

The same happens with the official Quicktime.

Any clue?

afaik there is no need to use qt alternative in most cases. try the haali splitter

Hi!

I've observed that, although the Quicktime player of Quicktime pro v.7.xxx (and earlier versions as well) can play .MP3 audio FILES very nicely, it cannot properly play the .MP3 audiostream multiplexed into a DivX-compressed .AVI.

If you convert the audiostream to one supported by Apple (AIFF, AAC, etc.) the resultant video will then play properly...

And how about streaming videos? My best guess would be that the problem would be something in my hardware or software configuration, as for all other people it works fine.
The method you mention, I'm not sure how could I do it for live videos (directly streamed via internet). What I'm trying to say, is that ALL the videos I play in QT 7 are like the one I posted on videos.google.com
