Any idea? I tried Hollowman and The Graduate, both R1 NTSC, and Closed Captions disappeared after re-encoding by DVDRB. Will this feature be added to DVDRB? The funny thing is that DVDShrink will retain CC. Thanks.

how is that funny? its different software that does a different thing (transcoding vs encidign and reauthoring)
cc are not currently retained. It is on the wish list, but i am not sure if it is on the to-do list

how is that funny?
He did not mean funny as "ha ha".
From dictionary.com (http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=funny):
"Strangely or suspiciously odd; curious."

That's because the CC are inserted as a part of the MPEG stream. Transcoders don't reencode, they just modify motion vectors, quants, etc... and pass over this kind of thing. It isn't passed through a frame server during encoding... so the encoder wouldn't see it. Also you will find very few encoders that will handle CC (in fact I don't know of one offhand) so in order to keep them you have to perform special operations to extract them from the original stream and reinsert them at the correct point in the output stream as a part of the multiplexing process. That's something that is planned for an upcoming version.
