Hello,

Let us take these 2 examples:

A = * Surcode CD PRO DTS / Audio: PCM 44100Hz stereo 1411Kbps [output]
DTS WAV (. wav)

B = * Surcode DVD PRO DTS / Audio: PCM (DTS) 48000Hz 6ch 1509Kbps [Output]
DTS Padded (. dts)

VLC 0.72 reads A;
VLC 0.84a doesn't read A;
MPC 6.4.8.7 doesn't read A;
Cyberlink Xp deluxe doesn't read A.

VLC 0.72 doesn't read the B;
VLC 0.84a doesn't read the B;
MPC 6.4.8.7 reads the B (. dts) and Cyberlink Xp deluxe too.....

Questions.

The last versions of VLC are not more compatible (On DTS) than the old versions why ?
Why VLC doesn't read the files (. dts)?

Because when you play dts audio in VLC you make DTS Inc sad, so they did their best to make sure nothing capable of dts decoding is hosted on videolan servers anymore, or something
I gues this happened somewhere between 0.72 and 0.84.

AK, :)

It is astonishing your commentary.
I have make the experience and it is the truth.
VLC 0.72 reads the DTS audio, whereas VLC 0.84 doesn't read any of the DTSWAV files (. wav ) and (. dts).

To do this work, I used Cool edit pro 2.0 (method of Amnon82 without "xw2ac3") and after Surcode CD/DVD Pro DTS.

By admitting that you say the truth. Why Powerdvd xp would read the DTS (. dts) / DTSWAV (.wav)?
And why the multiplexing (m2v /.dts) would function with IfoEdit?
In more why it is read by PowerDVD XP Deluxe?.

Strange as problem.
Could you clarify please.

Bye.

I can't really comment on IfoEdit and PowerDVD. I guess PowerDVD pays DTS Inc to have dts decoder, while VLC used to use opensource dts decoder, which seems to be discontinued now.

I understand......... but MPC is not paying I believe.

I tried again with Nuendo 3.1.1 (Steinberg nuendo dts), negative..... :(

NOTE: I like this player a lot for its polyvalency and its efficiency.

Thank you very much for your comments.

Bye AK ;)
