configuring cx23880 to my own settings

hi, every time i want to have any setting setup on my cx23880 drivers. the drivers go back to default. could you please help me find a tool that will help me configure my cx23880 drivers so that i have the settings the way i want them?

Dscaler can work with your chipset and the settings you choose can be permanent. However, since Dscaler works directly with your chipset, and bypasses your driver, the settings will only work in Dscaler.

what is Dscaler? i never heared of that program.

if there is another program that dose the same and to make the settings permeanent let me know.

I've compiled a small program called CX Tweaker (originally created by tedkunich and further edited by me) in this post (http://forum.doom9.org/showpost.php?p=746503&postcount=4). The only options available are for horizontal and vertical delay and scaling as they're more or less the only "hidden" options that you'd want to tweak, and the button for NTSC (not sure about PAL as I haven't gotten any feedback about it) gives me a perfect 53.333us capture window. I'd suggest you use it if you want perfect window scaling. There are instructions in the post pertaining to its usage. It also requires MemAccess Library (http://www.zealsoftstudio.com/memaccess/download.html) and Microsoft's Visual Basic runtime files.

This program does not make the settings permanent since it's a program outside of the drivers. I don't think there's anything you can do about the drivers resetting the capture settings besides having a capture program that actively overrides/bypasses the drivers (eg. DScaler). VirtualDub (http://www.virtualdub.org) 1.6.11 supports capture for CX2388x devices, and for me the settings in the "Capture filter..." dialog seem to stick as long as I don't close VirtualDub's capture window. You can use CX Tweaker and the "Capture filter..." dialog simultaneously to change settings since neither affects one another, therefore settings in the "Capture filter..." dialog should stick regardless of what's entered in CX Tweaker.

EDIT: I should've stated this earlier: this program has been tested with a MSI TV@nywhere Master card which has the CX23883 chip. Since you're using a card with the CX23880, use this program with caution. I'm not liable for any damage that may occur.
