Hi.

I'm in trick mode file generation hell and I'm wondering if there is anyone out there that has had to deal with the same thing.

Due to DRM issues between our VC-1 content and VOD servers, I must create the actual trick mode files so that viewers se something when usinf FFW or RW functions from their set-top box. The DRM makes it impossible for the server to produce the files on its own, as it normally would.

Has anyone seen or heard of a way to create the trick mode files at the same time as the encode?

Some of the issues that figure in the equation and affect the outcome are the following:
1) most of the content that we encode is on at least two DigiBeta tapes so there is a concatenation element
2) we're evaluating the Inlet Fathom - a sweet machine BTW - and as a 2 hr. movie makes for a massive .avi, everything must be done on the one box.

I'm looking for all the input that I can get please and thanks in advance.

Thanks,

Andrew
