I'm fairly new to this board, I had joined some time ago to learn to make VCD copies of DVDs to bring on long road trips and play on a laptop for my daughter. Recently I've started making backups of DVDs.
The reason is quite simple, I find it disturbing that some people like to keep all their DVDs in their boxes on a library shelf. I have a friend that has a wall of DVDs in his HT room. It's the ugliest thing ever. I like to copy them, stick the originals in an filing box and keep the copies in CD/DVD rolodexes. They're easy to access and the CD/DVD rolodexes can be nicely styled to match any living room or HT room.
Anyways, I just wanted to say thanks for all the tips. I had trouble backing up a few of the most recent DVDs like Stealth and Sky High. It turned out Stealth is normally hard to backup, and Sky High just had a production problem, the store exchanged it and the new copy I bought, copied just fine.
Thanks again.
