i was trying to find a way to combine avi(track1) with audio(track2) and subtitle(track4)
so i want to get a new avi file with same qulity and only have japanese audio
PS: all i want is to take out english audio and only have avi file with japaneses audio and subtitle..

Only half decent way I know to mux ogg vorbis to avi is ffmpeg and I really wouldn't recommend it. If you must have an avi, re-encode to mp3.

IIRC avimuxgui can do it also.

Are you sure? I thought it was just supposed to be able to open files muxed by ffmpeg? and that if you added vorbis it limited you to mkv output.

Even if you can mux it, what will play it? ffplay? eeeeew.
Either recompress the audio to mp3, or just mux everything back to MKV. I can't think of any possible benefit of using Vorbis in AVI over Vorbis in MKV.

It kinda, not so really plays in mplayer. Like I said, I wouldn't recommend it.

so i should convert ogg (audio) to mp3?
and if i do..what program should i use to mix avi with mp3 and subtitle(ass file)

If you have a standalone that only supports avi's then yes, convert to mp3. That is unless the vorbis is > 2 channels.
You can't mux ass subtitles to avi. You would need to convert to say srt, then mux with AVIMuxGUI. You loose compatibility by muxing the subs though and compatibility is about the only reason I can think of to convert to avi.

as stephanv said, use matroska
reencoding to mp3 hurts the audio quality
