As I'm now holding of CCE 2.70.2.0 (IIRC), I want to use it with DVD-RB-PRO 1.04.

Of course I already seached and red the forum :p

So I understand (please correct me if I''m wrong)

1) Do not use ECLCCE.
2) Set up DVD-RB for CCE-trial.
3) Enter as path for CCE-SP in DVD-RB PRO directly the path to CCE's executable.

Again please correct me if I'm wrong.

I want to especially use it for fading improvement as going from black slowly to a bright picture with a lot of movement in it, clearly get's the older version blocking, and this particulair problem should be solved. Also there should be gain in improvement even using Athlon XP (32 bits) 3000+.

Futhermore I want to ask anyone to explain to me the AQM or adaptive quantization matrices.

How do they work, and what do I have to do ???

DVD-RB-PRO doesn't look like it's supporting something extra for CCE SP 2.70.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

So are there settings to infuence they way how 2.70 works and how can I use them ????

Thanks anyone for helping me.

By the way: Can I force to let 2.70 use a higher Q factor such as displayed in bitrate viewer, making it doing more compression at the same bitrate.

I still notice even with BIAS=0 that action scenes on larger DVD's tend to block.

I even believe that if you steal about 10% or less of bitrate from the low-demanding scenes (let's say that's over 90% of the movie), this will not be visible, but can greatly improve the few moments were the blocking occures.

But that's a general problem.

Some hints on particulair 2.70 subjects are welcome,

Thanks everybody.

Just use the CCE & Procoder Configuration tool. It takes care of the setup.

If you want to adust the bitrates calculated by RB you can use RBOpt: it allows to increase the bitrate of individual cells, compensating by reducing the bitrate of the remaining ones.
