I think DVD Rebuilder Pro is a great program and I use it all the time together with DVDReMake. However it seems to have one annoying problem.

I have my DVD-RB PRO settings to remove all foreign audio and all subtitles. however if the DVD I am backing up has one or more foreign audio tracks the resulting DVD created by DVD-RB PRO is usually only 3.9 gigs in size instead of 4.3 - 4.5gigs.
i have had to resort to using other programs to first remove the foreign audio before using DVD-RB PRO.

Is there any way to fix this or do i have something setup incorrectly. i use CCE as my encoder of choice.

BTW i find the problem only occurs where there is foreign audio as well as english audio on the DVD.

cheers

I've never encountered this problem and I have DVD-RB remove audio tracks all the time. The only time I have seen it is when I don't uncheck the audio before doing the prepare step, but then remove them before the rebuild.

do I undertand you correctly? you uncheck the audio BEFORE the prepare step so that no audio is ticked to remove and then before the rebuild step (and after the encode step I assume) you then check all the audio you wish to remove?

Doesn't seem to make sense to me but maybe i have it wrong.

Here i have my settings so that all audio and subtitles except english are to be removed and with those settings I run the 3 steps - Prepare, encode and rebuild.

If I have foreign audio i seem to get an undersized DVD

And what happens if you first removbe these audio tracks COMPLETELY (also in IFO's) with other preprocessing tools ????

Just for testing you could make a movie only backup with DVDSHRINK and set remapping logical streams ON. So all streams are mapped logically and there are no 'empty' streams, even not in the IFO's....

Then run it through DVD-RB-PRO, and see again ehat happens....

Is youre doreign track a track before the english track ??

Most of the time English is first and the rest is after that.

But using DVDSHRINK in REAUTHOR MODE and setting LOGICAL REMAPPING ON, should solve this problem.....

Don't worry about a reauthor bug in DVDSHRINK, because DVD-RB-PRO corrects this in the REBUILD phase.

Youre sure it is not a 'protected DVD' with dummy sectors in it ??????

If so, this can mess up DVD-RB.....

DVD-RB does expect plain clear source material and no dummy data in cells...

dvd size seems fine then

Just for testing you could make a movie only backup with DVDSHRINK and set remapping logical streams ON. So all streams are mapped logically and there are no 'empty' streams, even not in the IFO's....

Then run it through DVD-RB-PRO, and see again ehat happens....

I don't have dvdshrink but I might give that a go

No English is first

yep

ok

not sure but then just about all dvd's are protected. This is the Clint Eastwood Collection I was given for Fathers Day that I am backing up.
I ripped them first with dvdfab decrypter, remastered them with dvdremake then ran them through DVD-RB PRO.

DVD-RB does expect plain clear source material and no dummy data in cells...

The end result was very nice just a lot smaller than I expected. It meant I could have put more of the extras on the backup.
