First I have to say thanks to most of you. This is my first post but have been reading for about a year and you guys have been real helpful.
Error 0006 : DVD-RB has found framecount differences between the PREPARE and REBUILD phases. Aborting. I did a search on this error and the prev. topic had no solution.
I have received this error when trying to copy Something's Gotta Give and also The Fantastic 4.
I am using DVD-RB1.04 and Procoder 2.0. I copy the data to my drive using DVD-Decrypter. I have uninstalled and reinstalled all apps and no change. Using XP-Pro for the o/s. I have run the movies through Voblanker and still get the same error. Tried The Fantastic Four with CCE 2.70.02 and I did not get the error but have several video freeze at the end of scene while audio cont.
Any help would be greatly appriciated.
JDobbs and Rockas keep up the great work!!

First, what region disc are you using, and did you check your log with Fantastic Four to see if you were missing any frames during rebuild?

Region 1. I did not see anything and no longer have the Fantastic Four log. I looked over Somethings Gotta Give and it does not show any msg re:missing frames.

Can anyone offer any assistance?

Are you using AnyDVD along with Decrypter? I noticed an anomaly that happens when the two are used together that can cause the 0006 error. I put a workaround into the code for the next version. You should be getting it soon. In the meantime, if this is the case, try not to use the two together, but use one or the other.

jdobbs thanks for the reply. I had seen in an earlier post re:anyDVD and ripped it again without AnyDVD running with the same results for both movies.

Is there an AVS in the working directory that has a name ending in all zeroes?
Try it with only AnyDVD -- but not DVD Decrypter. Do you have DVD Decrypter set to ignore errors? Maybe my memory is bad, but now that I think about it, it seems that DVD Decrypter choked on that disc...

I don't have any AVS in the working directory that has a name ending in all zeroes. When you say "Try it with only AnyDVD " do you mean copy the video_ts volder from my disc to the drive? I don't think AnyDVD decrypts without using cloneDVD. I also checked DVD Decrypter and cand find anywhere where I can set to ignore errors. I do appriciate the help. Thanks!

Hey Ripper I had no plans to. I just did not understand what jdobbs means when he said "Try it with only AnyDVD "

AnyDVD works by itself and doesn't require CloneDVD. You can either point DVD Rebuilder directly to the drive with AnyDVD enabled, or you can copy the VIDEO_TS folder to your hard drive with AnyDVD running. The second way is faster.

Will try it but may not have a response re:results till Mon.

I checked the file size of what I already had on drive using Decrypter and the file size on the DVD and they match but I will still manually copy files to drive and run through DVD-RB

They would match... the difference would be in where/how the "error" sectors are padded,

No change. Copied direct to the hd and received the same error again.

Not sure what to tell you. It's not a DVD Rebuilder error. That error is DVD Rebuilder telling you there is a problem with the source -- usually a ripping problem. But I have added some code to the next version that will stop at least some of these.

I will wait for the update before trying either movie again. Thanks jdobbs!

Region 1. I did not see anything and no longer have the Fantastic Four log.
This probably won't help with your error issue, but ..
Having just done this title, I never got to the stage of shrinking/re-encoding.
I just used DVDdecrypter and some post-processing.
If you don't mind digging at all the extras (which, with the sole exception of
the deleted scenes, all looked like advertising to me) this will fit onto a
single-layer disc with the video stream,ac3 audio, eng subs, and nav menus,
all untouched from the source.
Sorry for the rant, It's just ironic to me that this disc is just a 4.7GB
title with another 4.7GB of advertising and anti-piracy ads.
/ slight embelishment, as I did remove the DTS, which some people love.
// Still like mine better, don't have to sit through 15 mins of propaganda to get to the movie
/// Plays fine on the ol' standalone
;)
