Ok, it's an old title, but I'm getting no where and a search here has yeilded nothing. I thought it was an Arccos encryption, but it isn't. Anyone know anything about how to rip this one?

There is nothing special or unusual about the copy protection on that U2 concert DVD. If you're running into problems, the DVD is likely either dirty or scratched.

You should have absolutely no difficulty ripping it with ANY ripper...

I was afraid you'd say that. Grrrr.... There *is* a small, visible scratch on the surface. So am I just S.O.L.?

You can polish it out if it's not too deep - there are numerous methods.

Toothpaste...

When someone told me this @ 10 yrs. ago w/ audio CD's, I thought they were crazy til I tried it - it actually works for fine scratches. Just smear a little toothpaste (paste, not gel) and let it dry for a couple hours. When it's dry, buff it off w/ a soft cloth.
Maguires car wax works pretty well, too...

If those don't work, put it in the microwave for @3-4 minutes. It doesn't fix anything, but it sure is fun to watch.

Another poor man's method:

Get some petroleum-based lip balm (mentholatum, ChapStick, etc.) and put some on the disc. Buff it in with a soft cloth like a Kleenex or the likes. It works very well for light scratches, not sure about deep ones, though. You must buff it for a few minutes to get a new coating on it.
