(This matter was treated in some previous post but not very clarifying for me) My question is about the pale or faint aspect of the black color of letterbox/addborders generated by Avisynth. This becomes very clear when I letterbox with TMPGEnc in this particular way: loading an .avs file with an script like this:
AVISource("C:\Comedy.avi")
LanczosResize(672,376)
AddBorders(24,32,24,32)
ConvertToYUY2()
Then, in TMPGEnc-> Setting-> Video Tab-> Size: 720x440 which I set to 720x480. In the resulting video sees that the first 32 pixels of letterboxing (the inner ones, flanking the movie, generated by Avisynth) are clearer or lighter than the 20 "external" pixels of letterboxing (generated by "resizing" the movie in the VideoTab of TMPGEnc). In the PC monitor this is just evident with an increase of brightness in the video player options (like BS Player) but, in the TV this is easily noticeable. What I want to know is if I can obtain that heaviest black bars with CCE (far better and faster for my taste) since this does not allow me adjust the video size like TMPGEnc (v. 2.7 just stretch the movie area). I have tried several CCE options with same results (DVD compliant, Blanking, Luminance level,letterbox setting in CCE v2.7, etc) Perhaps it is not a big problem, but for me is very annoying no to be able to obtain that true Letterbox aspect. Even the black scenes of the own movie turns blackest than the Avisinth Letterbox.
Some screenshots of m2v file (BSPlayer and Irfanview to increase brightness) illustrate:
1.- "TMPGEnc letterbox":

2.- Avisynth letterbox o addborders (totally blended with the black of the movie):

3.- Mixed (Watch the difference): 32 pixels (inner ones) of Avisinth letterbox / 20 pixels (externals) of "TMPGEnc letterbox":

4.- Mixed too, exposing that The movie is even darkest than Avisynth letterbox (but not TMPGEnc letterbox):
