Got one for XMas. Its doing the job very nicely.
I have played about 12 movies so far, NO video issues at all, but just about everything is in Divx/XVid nowadays.
I have had a few sound issues, especially with LAME, but it plays AC3 fine, so its only 5 mins to convert each file if required. I have only had the lip synch drift once, and a quick fiddle with the remote to speed the sound up for a few seconds and it was back in step. Beautifull. Its my first DivX player, so I dont know if this feature is standard, but I was really worried about sync drift, so the "Key" speed up/down buttons are great.
Menu system is rubbish, you can only see the first 10 or so characters of each file, but it does sort them correctly so its not too much of an issue.
Remote is also a bit pants, needs long button presses while pointed STRAIGHT at the machine from more than a few feet away.
No USB port :(
No support at all :( but I havent needed it :)

For £40, its a bargain, and will easily pay for itself very very quickly. No more PPV films from NTL or 8 hours of converting to regular DVD format only for the sound to be missing/out of sync.

Love it.

Is there a 5.1 RCA output?
Does it need an external amplifier to use the six channels?

5.1 : Yes, definatly
RCA : Yes, think so.
Amplifier : Sorry, not a clue. But it does NOT have speaker connecters on the back like your piccy on the other thread.
