Color correction questions (Sample Videoclip inside)

Hi there

i've just shot myself playing Guitar Hero with my Elura 80 DV cam and , unfortunately, I'm having color problems. As you can see in the videoclip, the notes coming towards the camera pretty much all look bright white. They should , in fact, be different colors. From left to right :Green Red, Yellow, Blue, Orange.

Can I use Premiere Pro 1.5 to do something about this? Or any other tool for that matter?

Please play around with the videoclip and if you manage to improve how it looks, let me know (Step by step) all the settings you changed to make it so. I shall try to replicate it for the entire length of my video.

There isnt much you can do about this. Since those are CG elements superimposed over the video the most easiest way would be to use original footage and superimpose the graphics again but this time make sure it looks right.

Who ever pasted over the graphics on top of the video could possible fix it in case the untouched video and graphics still exist.
I have yet to see a DV camcorder that does this kind of graphics on the fly for recordings ;)

nobody pasted anything . What you see is what the camera recorded. No processing or editing of any kind was done. None at all. I simply filmed my Rear Projection CRT TV and dumped the resulting file in my computer, cut up a 5 second slice and posted it here for you all to see / use /tinker with.

I think you're confusing the actual graphics of the game (Guitar Hero) with some kind of effects I introduced myself.

OK. Since this is DV there is still nothing you can do as 'capturing' DV (merely copying) is different to capturing analog signals (analog to digital conversion).

Since I didn realize this was a video game (d'oh) filmed from a TV the only way to 'fix' this is when it occurs - when you film your TV. Make sure its showing the colors there. Anything lost here is lost forever.

Well, the tv is showing the colors just fine to the human eye. Not so much to the camera.

you need to set the camera to manual mode in order to correctly capture the TVs image.

you may try levels(15,2.4,255,0,255) on the footage

Are you showing yourself playing while you record the TV or is there a reason why you're not outputing from your TV through composite to your camera?
