ARccOS protected discs in ISO mode

Hi!

How can I rip ARccOS protected titles in iso mode? (Stealth, Hitch)
Reading trough all of those protected sectors just takes too long.
I gave up with Stealth after 2 hours.

Is it possible to use psl2 files in ISO mode?
Or maybe I need new drive that handles bad sectors faster.
Could someone recommed me one?

Yes, you can use .psl files in ISO mode...
Just keep in mind that in ISO mode, using default settings, the protection will only be by-passed and not removed...
Therefore, ISO mode is only useful for 1-1 DL back-up....
...unless, of course, you change the default settings...

"Eki" what software are you trying to use to rip Stealth to your Harddrive? Are you trying to bring it straight in via DVDDecrypter? I have taken a rip program such as DVDFab, ripped the disc to my Harddrive, and then used DVDShrink with an output in ISO mode. This seemed to work.

Simply use this automated method - How to backup ARccOS DVDs (http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?t=56831). Fully automated wizard takes you through all the steps. You end up with compliant DVD files as if ARccOS had never been invented.

I use AnyDVD. Then use DVDD in ISO mode. Seems to work well.

I know how to backup ARccOS protected titles in file mode with pgcedit and PSL2 plugin.
My problem is that PSL2 files created with that method work only with the file mode of DVDD.
I'm trying to make 1-1 DL backup so this isn't enough for me.

For example, in "Stealth" there is protected area in VTS_03_01.VOB which PSL2 plugin
handles just fine and I'm able to rip all files from DVD. (That part works in ISO mode too.)

Unfortunately DVDD gets stuck in ISO mode somewhere between VTS3 and VTS4!!
I don't know much about physical structure of DVD's but it seems to me that there is
protected area between title sets that isn't readable. How can I add this "area" to PSL2 file?

Those are not to be touched...
They are special sub-commands to unreference and remap the problematic cells in VTS_03_1...

If you can rip in file mode, burn the files with PgcEdit! You will have a better DVD, copiable w/o problem if you ever need to backup the backup.

Iso mounted in virtual drive works perfect with WinDVD and PowerDVD.
I'll test with my standalone later when I have time required.

A 1:1 ISO should work fine. But maybe not for an ARccOS protected DVD.

If you can rip in file mode, burn the files with PgcEdit! You will have a better DVD, copiable w/o problem if you ever need to backup the backup.

Isn't ISO mode required for avi.net and AutoGK for making Divx movies? This is where I am having problems.

Ah, you want to make DivX AVIs?
Well, it's not my domain, though in the past I have used the XviD encoder w/o problem on VOB files with DVD2AVI and VirtualDub. I don't know the recent methods, but I don't understand why an ISO should be needed.
Anyway, with the ripped files, you can also create an ISO with PgcEdit.
