Hi, first I would like to give props to Lightning UK and the new program. The guide he wrote and guided me thourgh regarding DVD+R DL burning with Pgcedit and IMGBURN works like a charm.

The layer break integration works in all my standalone players.

Quesion: How reliable is the verify option in IMGBURN. I mean compared with Nero verifying and programs like CD Check.

Sometimes I experience that IMGBURN gives me successful burning, but when verifying it gives me errors. Actually I had, what came out to be a very scratched media on which I successfully burned with IMGBURN. But when verifying it found the errors. Thank God cause the dvd was so scratched that I should not be able to play anywhere.

Still I found it strange that buning was "successful"

How reliable is the verify option?

It's not "liable" at all, otherwise LightningUK would be flooded with lawsuits. :)

Presumably you mean "reliable," in which case it only means that the burned disk will or will not be able to play successfuly on the drive with which it was burned. It certainly can't guarantee what it will do once you take it out.

Hmm I see a stream of failed verifies coming my way!

It may not be a problem with scratches... I'd expect a read error if they were the problem. For 'Miscompares', please read below....

Chances are, you have/had AnyDVD or something similar installed and running. This will change the content of the disc on the fly as ImgBurn attempts to read it back so it can compare that data against the original image file. (This is new in 1.1.0.0 - previously it just checked the sectors could be read).
Because the data ImgBurn is reading from the freshly burnt disc is being modified, it no longer matches the original image file - hence the reason for the 'Miscompare' error messages.

Yup, I ment reliable, I just misspelled it.

I don't experience it very often, but as you mentioned I do have Anydvd running in the background. I will try disabling the program when verifying in the future.

Thanx for the reply
