One user had problems playing RealMedia streams from URLs using Media Player Classic. Another one found that the "QT/Real Alternative" versions differ slightly in the mplayerc.ini file - they have a "\1" instead of "\0" after "[File formats] Real media file=...". And there are even \2 and \3, occasionally.
Is there an official documentation which covers the meaning of those added numbers?
