What settings do you guys use? DVD-RB/CCE

Just curious as to what you guys have for VBR_Bias, VBR_passes and Quality Prec?

i have used 0 for vbr_bias and 36 for quality prec - but now i just use the default 25 and 16

VBR_passes = 3
Quality Prec = 16 for normal movie, 24 for anime ( DVDRebuilder translate this values to he correct upon CCE version)

Vbr_Pass=2 (sometimes on low BR I go for 3 )

If its an episode DVD and I'm just doing a full straight backup I use VBR=10, Quality=16

For movie only I user VBR=20, Quality=16

Always use CCE on 3 passes now, used to use 3 passes for episode DVD's and 2-pass for movie only, but just leave it on 3 now

Also alter the matrix setting to low quality for low quality bitrate, very low quality for very low bitrate

Change the main matrix to CG or defaults if doing cartoon or computer generated movies, like Antz, Bugs Life, Simpsons, etc


I'd appreciate if somebody can also add what matrix they use for what source as well, and maybe why

I use the default for bias and prec, 3 passes for all sources (I have SP, might as well make use of an extra pass or two).

As for matrices, there are long threads discussing which to use. I use the CCE default except for high bitrate situations (4000+) where I use the Criterion matrix (comes with Rockas' Matrix Editor).
