I've "MADAGASCAR - not for rental version" Region2(Italian).
This movie don't have ARccoS or Ripguard!!!

I've tried to backup with DVD Shrink and DVD Dercypter without any decrypting program executing in backgrond (ANYDVD,DVD43,DVDIdle) and the ripped DVD works fine on my stand-alone DVD player.
I've analyzed original IFO files with Ifoedit and don't appear to be a ArccoS movie.
I have found 3 strange things:
- VIDEO_TS.VOB 346MB of Black Screen -> blanked with VOBBlanker
- VTS_05_01 752MB of Black Screen -> blanked with VOBBlanker
- 4 mysterious files in order to use the dvd like dvd-rom (Autorun.inf, Desktop DB, Desktop DF, index.htm and ShelExec.exe).

If you play the DVD on your PC, I'll believe you'll find there's really nothing "mysterious" about these files...

I have fear that if I execute these files they can damage the PC or prevent the copy of the movie.
My PC DVD-rom have Autorun : disabled and I use a user account with many limitations .

Thanks for the info andyfav. These files are normal for executing the PC ROM games and player. The decrypt will ignore them. As for the blackness, this is becoming quite common as a rather crude anti-copying technique.

Thanks for the info.

@setarip - finally a convert to the blue side. Keep it up mano!
