View Full Version : HDTV on a non HDTV television still looks better?

Dumb question, but I want to see if I am imagining things.

My pal tv picture usually is output at 800x600 resolution from my Nvidia card. The new card (6200 Nvidia) allows output at 1024x768 resolution and when I play back a hdtv demo to my television it seems to me to look a little better than dvd playback.

Is this just my imagination or would those extra lines make a small difference in picture quality?

Obviously I know my tv is not hdtv, but hdtv stuff looks better to me on my standard tv then non hdtv material and I am just wondering if its my imagination.

You may be seeing better color since hdtv material has dvd beat in this respect but your still limited in resolution to your TV's max resolution.

So it may really look a tad better then.

One day I`ll afford a nice HDTV :)
