hey im looking for a good program to convert DVD to iPod format which is .m4v or .mov anyone know a good, fast freeware program for this? thnx.

ps i did post this in general but i think this forum is for fitting.

MeGUI (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=96032) is a good option. Try using it in combination with Sharktooth's iPod profile (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=101813).

If you can't figure it out, you could read the arstechnica guide (http://arstechnica.com/guides/tweaks/ipod-video.ars/6) which explains how to do exactly what you want, although it is a little bit outdated.

the ipod supports .mp4 files (yeah apple uses the wrong .m4v extensions for .mp4 files, but who cares about apples braindeadness...)
