Hi!
I have an SB Live! 5.1 Sound card and I've been using it for years now without any problems. Until now. The problem is that I cannot select 5.1 in AC3filter, only 1/0 2/0 or pro logic output modes. The settings in control panel/sound/special (number of speakers connected to the PC) is also set to 5.1. I thought it is set to 2.0 and that is why I cannot select more output channels in ac3 filter.
Creative's surround mixer can test the channels but the center (and subwoofer well it usually doesn't test the subwoofer) doesn't produce sound (I've checked the cables, those are good).
I also uninstalled and reinstalled ac3 filter (1.01rc5 and 0.70b too), but it didn't help.
After I ran out of I enabled my onboard integrated soundmax sound. It is also 5.1 but the problem didn't change. AC3 filter doesn't let me select more than 2 channels. I also created own ac3 files to test the channels.
I have some other ac3 decoder filters installed. Nero also doesn't let me select more than two channels just as cyberlink. But DScaler looks good.
It would be good to make ac3 filter work again and the SBLive card too.
My OS is quite "fresh" I installed XP in September. (It worked perfectly for 2 years before the reinstall...).
Playing DVD with PowerDVD (with 6 channels setting) also looks good.
