Laggy H264

Whenever I play H264 files in Quicktime the quality is not as good as Xvid. It's like the H264 files are playing at a low FPS. Has this problem occured in the past what is the solution? I'm downloading VLC now.

To resume the search, which you should have used anyway, QT is a crap decoder. :)
