Sometimes I'll download an HDTV file, and it will be in, say, 640x480 with the black bars on the top and bottom. Is there a tool I could use to go in and crop the file down to it's actual resolution? I know this can be accomplished through a few tools by cropping and altering resolution when you reencode, but I would LOVE to avoid reencoding.
I found something called "easy video splitter" (a tool used for a totally different purpose) that can hack off the beginning or end few seconds, minutes, whatever of a video without reencoding. The video's framerate, bitrate, compression, all stay the same. I would like something like this for the cropping. I can cut off the top and bottom, but don't have to worry about any encoding.
