am using a pioneer DVD-RW DVR-K13RA with shrink 3.2 and nero, burning keeps failing have tried different discs same project fails at different stages, also frequently get a cyclic redundancy error with shrink have tried to find updated driver on pioneer site but cant find above model number any ideas im not wondefully computer literate have burnt lots before with no dramas, also have been unable to copy previously copied discs thanks lizzie

If you're also using the same media you were before and it's a couple years old, try some newer media, preferably something good quality. If you again get the same failure of copying disks that you were previously able to copy successfully, it's most likely a failing drive.

thanks the drive keeps telling me its ok, any ideas on where i can update the drive? have tried media that is only about 2 months old tdk which i have used before some work some dont how old is too old with media, what does cyclic redundancy error with shrink mean?

It means the disk can't be read. It still sounds like your drive is failing, which means it needs to be replaced.

Before replacing your aging burner, you might consider running a DVD/CD cleaning disc on it. Maxell makes one that sells for approximately $10US...

thanks have cleaned drive and do it regularly and tried some other media a friend tried the old media and had same problems a cheaper brand is working fine but i can look at a light globe and make it blow so things seem ok today
