HDTV MPEG problem

Hello,
I have an MPEG (with MPEG-2/AC3 compression) that DGIndex can't open. It edns up with this message: "Cannot find audio or video data. Check your PIDs." The video has a resolution 1920x1080 and there is 5.1 AC3 audio.
I have issues with other programs too. VirtualDubMod opens the file, but the video is corrupted and there is no audio stream. GSpot can't find audio neither. But the file plays fine in ViPlay (MainConcept or Nero splitter, DScaler5 video decoder, FFDShow audio decoder), in MPC and VLC.
Anybody knows where could be the problem? What should I try do open the file? How can I demux audio from it?

I forgot to mention - I use DGIndex 1.4.0. Anyway I succesfuly demuxed the MPEG using ProjectX. The created .m2v can be opened in DGIndex without problems, also the AC3 sound file plays fine. So my job is done, but the question why it didn't work in DGIndex remains.....

You need to specify Audio / Video streams. Please refer to the included documentation on how to do this.

upgrade to 1.4.6b2 then under the stream menu select detect pids PAT/PMT.
if DGindex can't find pids for you to choose from then try the next menu item
which is Detect Pids Raw which scans like the first 100 megs of the file.

99.99% of the time you will find the pids doing the above if you still
can't find them then try another app like projectX and do a Get Info
on the file etc...
