you´re producing discret channels inside your AC3 with that app ~> one 'normal', 5 very low ones. I cannot imagine that you intended this as final result of your work :(

Although the old guide provided some interesting results on some music, you might want to check the Sursound mailing list at https://mail.music.vt.edu/mailman/listinfo/sursound. In their archives at the very end of October 2004, I asked some of the world's leading experts in surround sound for their assessment of the method used in the old guide, including Mr. Dave Malham of York University who actually wrote some of the plugins involved. You'll discover that the plugins were never intended for converting stereo to surround but rather to process sound that had been recorded in a specific way for Ambisonics. If you're looking for specific details on methods that do work, why not check out our guide list on here. I wrote a detailed step-by-step guide for using Plogue Bidule to convert to surround, and also one for Nuendo and Cubase. I've received some really good feedback on these. Daphy and @ndy's web site also provides a lot of good resources.

Have you tried my V.I plugin? I've been getting tons of good feedback on that. Plus one plugin is a lot easier to use than three!

you could check out the visual guide on needfulthings (http://www.needfulthings.webhop.org), all needed app/plugins/layouts are also listed there, too
(for a VST-Host plz visit www.plogue.com)

ilmanu,

You can access my guide at GUIDE: V.I Stereo to 5.1 Converter and II Surround Generator VST Plugins (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=570432#post570432). There are links in its text that branch off to guides for Plogue, Cubase/Nuendo, etc. As Daphy pointed out, trhere are visual guides, downloads, etc., all available at Needfulthings (http://www.needfulthings.webhop.org/).

I maintain the guide list on here, so if you have any suggestions for improving it, please feel free to private message me with them. I've already re-organized it several times and gotten some good feedback, but there's always room for improvement.

Regards,
Steve.
